all the adds state that this boat has 8 ft rod locker and I have measured it 3 times and still come up with 7 ft rod locker . this is kind of tough when you have 7ft 6 in rods to put in it. I would like to know if anybody else has run across this problem and what they had done to correct it

Do you already own this boat or are you just looking at the boat. 

Maybe the are referring to a 8' telescoping rod. I've measured 1600's & 1700's and none will fit an  8' rod.

My old boat's locker holds only 7 footers. I have 2 telescoping 7' 6" rods . Not the best, but it works (sorta).
