Hmm, anyone got one of these?

I have use a couple of bungee cords to strap between the vehicle overhead handles.

It would hold the rods but most of my rods were to long to fit like that.

If I have to leave them in the vehicle I'm not sure that I would like my rods up that high where everyone can see them.

Got a pair from Amazon about 4 years ago.  Still use them in my Durango today.  I keep about from 10 to 20 rods in my car year round and the straps have been great.

I would try a couple bungee cords like above to try it out. Then I you like it you could upgrade, or leave bungee cords.

The one that I have is made by Rod Saver.  With a little aftermarket adaptation mine will hold 20 rods & reels, more or less.   I haven't found a better way to transport rods, with the rods being accessible AND out of the way while traveling.

True, the rods are visible from outside the vehicle - more or less visible as my side windows & rear window have a pretty dark tint.   I don't know about anyone else's insurance but according to my insurance if rods are stolen from my boat (no lockable compartments ) theft is NOT covered.   This happened to me in 2003 - roughly 3000 worth of rods & reels were stolen from my boat when I left it tied up in a slip at Lake Ozark.   My insurance agent, after the fact, informed me that had that gear been taken from my locked vehicle it would have been covered.  So I don't worry so much about if folks can see inside the truck, if they have to break their way into the vehicle, theft is covered.   I have an extensive list of what is in the truck AND I keep a copy at home.   Hopefully I'll never have to find out if my insurance agent was correct or not.  (When I checked with the insurance company over the phone, they told me basically the same thing)

So, that is why I use the overhead rod saver and I'm conscious about keeping my truck locked.

I've been thinking about making something like this. Curious if anyone made up something like this or has this product? Thoughts?

That looks like it might not be easy to get the rods in and out if you have undo the Velcro twice on each rod in and out. Maybe, if you only have to do it once while traveling on a long trip, it wouldn’t be bad, but I wouldn’t choose that style.

Mine has loops on the front strap - slide the rod tips in, even with sleeves on.  Velcro on the rear strap.  Putting velcro around a handle right at the back of the SUV takes all of about 3 seconds...and yet, I don't do them all -- the ones on the ends and maybe two nearer the middle -- just to keep them from all piling up in the middle

I had those, always needed to adjust them cause it would droop to low after a while.
