What should I use this rod for?

Featured Replies

I have Daiwa Tatula rod, it is a 7’ Medium Rod, with a R action, i’m relatively new to fishing so I was wondering what I can use this rod for!

I use that rod for lipless and shallow diving crankbaits

could I use the rod for spinnerbaits, or just primarily treble hook baits?

It would work fine for lighter wire spinnerbaits, and braid/fluoro. I have the 7' ML/R Cronos that I have used for that before and it was just fine.

Like said, I would only use it with light spinner baits like the Booyah pond magic or something along those lines. The rod is too soft to drive home the heavier hooks on the bigger spinner baits in my opinion. You may have some success, but I think a heavier rod would be a much better option for that.
