19 Daiwa certate lt or 19 Shimano vanquish

Featured Replies

Title says it all. Need a spinning reel in a 2500 sz and it's one of these two. Mostly Shimano guy, but the new Stradic Ci4 I have is junk. Have older Sustains that are nice, not buying a Stella or Exist and the Exsence starts in a 3000 sz. Havent been able to see either of these reels in person so not sure how one feels over the other. Looking for the reel which takes less inertia to turn and is the smoother of the two. If you have experience with either reel please let me know your thoughts, thanks!

Shimano 3000 is the same size as 2500, just deeper spool. I can't imagine your CI4+ being junk, though. I've got 4 older FA's and they're great, maybe not as refined as the FB's. Every FB I handled was smooth as glass. Any reel you asked about is going to be crazy smooth.

Don’t write off the Exsence because of the 3000 label. It is very much in line with what most would expect out of a typical bass reel. Even regarding spool size the 3000 Exsence has a capacity of 8/110 the Stradic has a capacity of 8/140. Personally I don’t understand where the 3000 label comes from, what I do know is it’s a very nice reel and would definitely recommend it.

The only casting reels I own are Shimano. My only spinning reels are certates all five of them. I have always called the Daiwa Certate the poormans Stella, for about half the price.

I just got a new '20 2500S Luvius and I cannot imagine needing anything smoother.  Daiwa is putting more of the good stuff in their lower priced reels.

This is gonna be on a 9'6" big water trout float rod. Up in arms over the 2500 xh or the 3000 cxh. I'm leaning towards the 3000, bigger spool same handle length. So better line management and it only weighs a little more than 1/8oz more. But this is the reel I'm getting.

If I could I’d put the Shimano AR unit In the Certate It’d be perfect.

At this time I only own one Daiwa reel, its the Certate.

I also have a couple Stella's and IMO the Stella is the nicer more refined reel but it does also cost more.

The Certate is a d**n awesome reel.
