Whenever the question starts best it's garenteed to become a personal choice thread.

Bass anglers think a spinning rod should be Xfast action for reasons unknown. Spinning rods use light weight lures and line for the vast majority of bass anglers and Xfast or fast action rods put extra pressure on the light line and knots.

The ideal spinning rod should be more parabolic in action or what bass anglers use for crankbaits with treble hooks. The problem is you can't find a moderate action medium power spinning rod off the shelf unless you look into trout or walleye species rods.

My 90's era Phenix spinning rods outfish anything available today over the counter.

If you can find Alpha Angler DSR or G. Loomis PR845S spinning rod in price range it's ideal for call around spinning rods.

Falcon original series used to make a spinning rod that was great for small cranks and jerkbaits. Was a true moderate action spinning rod
