Hey guys, the bait monkey recently got me pretty good. I picked up 3 of the Origin C feels for half price.  Now im looking for new rods to put them on. the guys on here who remwmber me know that I was an.avid Powell rod guy, and honestly in not.super impressed with the.new max rods, so I'm just looking at others to add unless I can get some old ones.  ..and I used a buddy's tatula rod several years ago and.even.compared to my.old endurance s, they were flat out good.

I've looked around on Tw and on Td and and.I'm really interested in the Daiwa Tatula.   I have found them a little cheaper on other sites too.  My main question is, what's the real world

difference in the xt and the slightly.more expensive Tatula with the.cork handles?  I'm trying to keep the bait monkey under 125 a rod and.can get.all 3

I also saw on tw, viper rods almost half off, any body here with experience with those..

Any info would help

The Tatula has a better ,more sensitive blank than the Xt. You should be able to find the Tatula for 125 or less if you shop around.

I didn't really like the XT version compared to the regular.  All of my comparisons were made on the OG versions from about 3 years ago.  I still use my OG Tatulas regularly but have only used the XT once.  It just didn't feel the same and seemed noticeably heavier.  I keep it for a backup.

Yes, I found it for 119.  Just wish they had in in split grip.  Lol.  That sounds picky.

Agree with LonnieP, the Tatula has a lighter more sensitive blank.  You could buy a combination of rods, Tatula for bottom contact and XTs for cranks, spinnerbaits, etc.

Thanks man,  I'm pretty set on cranking rods... I'm really keeping an open mind on what to use them for.  It may very well be buying actions that I can use for a multitude of things.
