The wife and I were able to both find a beautiful day off so we went fishing at a local pond and I was also able to break in my new Abu Revo SX reel with a Basspro bionic rod. 11 total small mouth caught. 10 by the wife and just one little ole lonely one for me. I was using spinner bait and a Texas rig to no avail while she was pulling them out every other cast with a small crank bait.

 

not only did she catch the most, but she also caught the biggest.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun and man enough to admit when you're getting owned by your wife. Lol

Uh, one suggestion, next time tie on the lure that is catching fish! Def a crank bait day.

She normally owns the trip every time lol

Lol, those were largemouth bass but does it really matter when catching.......or should I say, getting owned by the better half, couldn't help it.

Lol I hear ya man. My wife loves to fish as much as I do and apparently I need more education on what I’m catching. She has a knacky way of just randomly picking a lure and somehow starts slaying the fish. Every time. I’m not ashamed to admit that either lol I do have my moments though when I can catch em all, but it’s not very often. She is my best friend I enjoy the time we spend together even when she is doing all the winning.

No doubt. I did just buy a new buzzbait and a swim jig that I wanted to try out so after I got enough of watching her catching them, I tied on a crank bait and got my one and only bass. We went again today and had the right opposite effect in the same pond. I started with a crank bait as did she, she didn’t get even a bite while I pulled in a couple small bass.
