I stole this from another thread on here. Has anyone ever used a trailer hook like this for frog fishing? Seems like it would certain up the old hook up percentage! Does this really affect how weedless it is? Pretty expensive option, though. Anyone have experience with something like this or have another model they would recommend?

I've never used one and have had great frog fishing days,  trim the legs and be patient setting the hook,  it's just another technique to learn,  the payoff is awesome when they come up out of the water to eat your frog

I too have never used a trailer hook on my frogs, as said above..but I'd also add, to bend the hooks up, and out about 1 to 2 mm..still remains weedless, but better hook ups.

I have one on every frog and it really, really makes hook ups easy.  No more guessing delays.  They hit and they are hooked, usually in the roof of their mouth.  Don't leave home without one LOL.  The Lake fork doesn't look like it would be very sturdy, but I have never had one fail.

Certainly has helped my landing percentage when frog fishing. Still pretty weedless too. It does make the back of frog sit lower in the water though.

Over mats they're probably alright. I frog a lot in water willows and they're absolutely worthless for that.
