Owner Twist Lock question, very weedless?

I bought some Owner 3/0 Twist Lock hooks this winter to try with T-rigged stick baits like a 6.5" Trick worm or 5" Senko. Probably a Zoom Super Fluke too. I really like the idea of how well it would hold the soft plastic bait and lengthen the life of it. This weekend I had a chance to rig a  5" Senko and throw it in open water for a bit. My concern is how weedless it would be and would it get hung up on grass more than a normal style worm hook due to the style of the nose when the bait is on it. Anyone have any real experience with these? Been thinking about grabbing some 5/0 for some Zoom Ol' Monsters too if they pass the test.

I haven't noticed them being any more or less weedless than a regular offset hook.

One thing you want to do, is make sure the twist loc, is the large size, some of the smaller hooks come with a medium size loc. You can order a pack of large ones from TW, or any place that carries them. The med. size locs tend to tear out of the bait, making it useless after 1 fish. The large locs hold the bait way better, for multiple catches..

I use the CPS pins and other screw locks on all sorts of hooks (on a dropshot hook for example).  For the places where I'm using them versus I could use a regular offset worm hook, I don't see any difference.  There should be one - with the offset worm hook, you can bury the hook eye back into the plastic.  But for me, it's the hook size and gap that usually make more of a difference, along with true Texas rig versus Texposed, Texposed skin-hooked.  Like you, I find that many baits can be made to last longer using a screw lock, if it's a GYBC Senko, it's tough no matter how you rig it.

same hear and I use them all the time...

I feel that they are more weedless, by a little bit. But enough that I switched to them for my non-light wire applications.
