Buying an amazing Lews Tournament SLP reel at bass pro for $169.99 and falling in love with it and I discover today, not two weeks later after I bought it....that the price was dropped to....$129.99 lol

One of my two Revo SX’s crapped out two weeks ago just a couple weeks after buying it so bass pro let me swap it for the lews with me paying the 20 some odd dollars in difference. I needed the reel that day as I had two more full days of fishing planned so it really wasn’t a matter of impatience.

oh well win some and lose some lol

Every product ever goes on sale. Can't think of a single item I haven't seen cheaper in the future because of a sale. If I wanted it, I bought, I have it, and it doesn't matter.

If you bought it locally, I’d go back to the store and see if they’d honor the sales price. I bet that they would. That $40 could be used to buy lures and what not.

I am currently working a three week summer shutdown at my job with no off days until the first week of July(Maint. Tech) so that ship may sail if the opportunity is there.

The way to avoid this in the future is wait for a sale before you buy. I have not paid full retail on a reel in years.

The only regrets I have now is if I buy something on sale and a short time later there is an even better sale.

That’s how it goes sometimes. But I’m glad you’re happy with the reel. That’s what really counts and that’s better than being stuck with something you don’t like, lol.

Better than my luck.  On more than one occasion, I've waited for the sale, only to find it's sold out.  Then I find out the old model is discontinued, which is why it was on sale, and the new model is $20 more and winds up being less reliable.

If you were okay with the price when you bought it, and you like it, then you got a good product at a good price.

That's what I do. Then a sale comes and I dawdle around and before I know it, it's sold out....

I am not legitimately upset about it. I wanted a curado k but they were sold out and the lews was the runner up in mind before I even got there lol just felt like one of those “just my luck” type of things.

Never forget the stores that offer price match. If its on sale at Cabelas/BPS, Sportsmens Warehouse will match the price, and vice versa. Just did this Thursday at SW, all I had to do was show them the Cabela's ad on my phone and boom, $80 of a Stradic Ci4+. I am guessing there are other regional chains who have similar price match offers.

Except the OP stated he needed it that day.

I avoid paying full price.  And have never been in a situation where I had to have a reel that day.  Guess that is one of the benefits of having too many reels.  :smile1:

I recently bought a Lews Speed spool LFS for $74 Amazon prime.

Tried it, liked it so proceeded to buy another only to find it at $90.

What's funny is if the original reel I purchased was $90 I'd have no issue paying it again but for now, it's sitting in the cart.
