Delaware Water Gap

Featured Replies

Friends and I want to take a camping/fishing trip on a river and pretend we are like huck Finn. We want to fish, hunt, cook, and camp all on the river. I am wondering if it is big enough for a bass boat. we are looking to spend 3 days and 3-4 people.

Yes, it's big enough for a bass-boat.

When you're at the bottom of the gap, it makes a mere mortal feel rather diminutive.

I live in the poconos and was just on the Delaware last night, there's definitely some shallow area on the river. Just take your time and keep your eyes open. It's a great smallmouth fishery! Oh watch for bears too....saw 2 last night feeding on all the dead shad.

looks like you're about 15 min down the road...

I wouldnt take a glass boat on the Delaware.  Flat bottom aluminum is the way to go.  Also, I dont know when you plan to do this, but most game animal's are not in season until the fall when it is pretty cold.

I used to do some epic smallie fishing in and around the gap. Walleye are also a possibility. There are some great wild trout streams as well that feed in there.
