Yes, I guess you didn't read my post though.

IMO, it is much better than the previous model (aside from the hook keeper) and probably just behind the Expride in terms of sensitivity. I would also take a look at what you want to do with it and what line you are going to put on it as to whether or not you would benefit more form a Zodias or an Expride. Money being no object, get the Expride (assuming a Poison Adrena is out of the conversation) if you are looking to save a few bucks, the Zodias will suit you well.

They are much better looking than the previous model and the handle feels great!

And the hook keeper sucks LOL

Sorry for the oversight on your direct experience with it, but I appreciate the time you took to provide the additional detail.   I really like the poison adrena, Just wish it came in more models and the spinning side.   a 7-2 medium heavy in the poison adrena would be absolutely perfect.   I have several extras, and I guess maybe I'll just pick up a 7-2 medium heavy X-Pride while I wait for the poison adrena to come out with different models.

Thanks again for the feedback, I appreciate the insight.

Just picked up the 7'2 MH and H and been putting through testing. I own 3 Posion Adrenas in similar length and models and fished Exprides.

Comparing to same models in my hands.

Adrena balance better especially with 5.5 oz reels. Zodias has more power, probably due to the US spec bend. Adrenas are more versatile due a little bit softer JDM actions. The 7'2 MH Zodias is pretty versatile though.

I've fished and owned gen1 before and the carbon monocoque grip did increase sensitivity. It might be close to same as Exprides in my hands. Adrenas are closer to NRX sensitivity, but certain NRX models are still #1 due to JWR and recoil guides IMO.

They definitely out fish their price point, will gladly take crap warranty for higher performance. Again IMO, best bang for buck rod.

What are your plans for the 7'2" H?

I'm in the market for a new 1/2 oz. jig rod.

I use the Expride 7'2 H for 1/2 oz jigs and it is a great jig rod in my opinion. I would assume the Zodias would be as well.

Is the expride a better jig rod then the adrena.

Been using for 1/2 oz jigs in grass and it works great for that with good feel. Rod weighs like 4.45 oz on my scale. Balance isn't the best with a 5.5 oz reel, so I counter balance with a rubber table shoe and now it feels closer to Adrena.

Its balance point is better with heavier reels, near the locking nut. But I like running light reels with a counter balance. Overall package is lighter and the counter balance pushes balance point near reel seat more.

I haven't thrown jigs on my 7'3 MH Adrena, but I would LOVE to have the 7'2 H to compare to my Expride. IMO the 7'3 MH is a different animal than the 7'2 H. The Expride feels a lot more "stout" (as I guess it should) but it also feels a whole lot faster in the tip. I wish I could get an Expride or Adrena (even Zodias for that matter) in a 7'2 H Xfast for throwing jigs.

Thanks for the info. and suggestions, jbsoonerfan and ASQ.

I guess I'm going to have to go ahead and order one.  Probably pair it up with a Bantam MGL.

Mine will be here tomorrow. I wanted a 7' MH and a 7'2 MH but they only had the 7' in stock so I ordered 2 of them.

what would be the difference in those rods other than an extra 2 inches?

The longer rod loads a bit more, giving you extra distance on casts. Also the 'action' part of the tip is a bit longer along the rod, giving you better control of a hooked fish.

Downside to extra length - precision casting to a specific spot suffers...shorter rods are better for 'hitting a target'.

2 inches might not seem all that much, but there is a difference.

I just got offered a 7 ft med/heavy zodias for a great price. If it was a 6'10 or 7ft medium id be all over it. Whats the taper like on these? I fish mostly open, clearwater and dont need alot of power.

The action on the 7' MH is usually Fast.

Be great for spinner, chatter, jigs, t-rigs....MH/F is pretty much the 'Swiss Army knife' of casting rods. Does a number of things quite well...and others adequately.
