Why is this lure so sought after?

 

Also the RI Swamp Donkey why is it sought after lure? 

Think about all the things that  makes any lure highly sought after it is no longer made and the 1 common denominator they will all have is that they work.

It's a great bait that seems to have that "It" factor.

 

I have one, I should sell it but I'd miss it if I did. I've found the new 6th Sense Catwalk to be a pretty good imitation.

Here's the Vixen I bought yesterday. The fishing store had 2 left of the baby bass color.

Not my color of choice but it will suffice . As long as it has a white belly, then I'm good with it.

I do have to say, the weight of the lure is 3/4 oz. The one I have in the pic, is just slightly over 5/8 oz, so not quite 3/4 oz. I don't know if I'm disappointed that it's not the real stated weight. 

 

I did cast it out a few times today at a lake. It casts much lighter than supposed weight and just a very different topwater lure. It is loud! IDK if the sound scares the fish away. I'll keep casting this during the week.

I've got a couple Vixen's and a Repo Man. With the prices headed north of  $100 I think about selling them but I may regret it and like pre Rapala warts the prices aren't coming down.

Is that the Teckle version ?

They catch fish fine...Ive had 2 original ones for I guess 15 yrs now +\-. But IMO they're nothing special. I think alot of the mystic comes from guys being more into inclined to a spook back in the day & the fact these became harder to obtain after people caught fish on them.Theres a ton of options in that category these days- & the vixen doesnt really stand out in the croud IMO.
