These are some originals , the hooks seem small to me but I am going to make some.  Does anyone here use these?

I was a big fan of the Gopher jigheads and never really found a replacement that I liked as much for MWF use.  Z-man is making clones of them now but I haven’t picked any up to try yet. 
 

The small hooks are a lot of the appeal, good roof of the mouth hooksets and reduced snagging. 

Used to but Z-man sure isn't giving them away at $4.99 for 4 jigs!!!  

The #4 hook is the ideal size and what most guys that use the old school Gopher heads are looking for. I don't personally use them because putting a Zman bait on one is impossible but the Zman Gopher heads are going to fly off the shelf even at over $1 a head, which is just insane to me.

"Big John" worm head made by Gopher Tackle was (and still is) my go to exposed hook point jig head.  The hook is a 2/0.  Obviously I don't "Ned rig fish", but I am all about finesse...

It doesn't make any sense, but I have an easier time getting them to stay on a Gopher then the wire-keeper MWF mold ones.  It's more of a pain upfront, but they stay on so much better w/o glue.  

 

My dream Ned head would be a Gopher-style 1/16oz-#4 with the power coat going all the way up to the hook bend to give a little corrosion protection.  

Well I just recieved some 1/8 and 3/16oz ones with the 2/0 hook. Still looking for some of the big johns if I can find them .

The MWF mold keeper is easy, push it up, then pull the plastic down (forward towards the hook point), you'll feel a little "pop", it's rigged. I never use glue and it's easy to remove and change baits.

Use a Black Pearl jig hook you wouldn't have to worry about that.  

Mold for the smaller ones is done.

That looks great!!  probably look even better with a whole load poured up!!  Is that going to take a specific hook or can you use any hooks in it??

These are size 4 what all the Ned purists want. I can use size 2 hooks in it but not sure about any others? 

 

Had some trouble with it casting correctly but was able to make about 150 heads in about 90 minutes.
