Switch Blade

Featured Replies

Surprised no one has made a post about these things... The Queen Tackle Switch Blade is awesome! Has potential to be the next big thing in my opinion. You attach it to anything with a vertical eye, in my case I use them to make chatterbaits.

You may or may not believe this, but they run just as well as a Jackhammer (when setup properly), with more customization, for 1/3rd the price. You get to choose blade size/color, head size/color (usually needs at least 3/8oz+ for small and 1/2+ for large), and hook size just by mixing and matching with whatever you like. I normally just use the small silver blade pictured, they're the same size at a jackhammer blade, but you can use the large blade for even more thump. I know this is starting to sound like a commercial but I'm just sharing my personal experience. I caught lots of 4+ pounders on these this year!

I've heard of people using these on lipless crankbaits, swimbait heads, big shaky heads, or even spinnerbaits and Alabama rigs. Would be curious to see your inventions with em!

Do they just snap on?  How is the durability?  Thanks very much for the lead!

This video (time stamped @ 1:30) shows you how to put them on

The durability has been good overall, but I have bent out the stock snap a couple times after repeated 5lbers and once on a big striper, so I have been replacing the stock snap with a heavier one recently. If you're not around big bass and stripers the stock one works fine.

Order up!  Thanks again for the intel on these-I was just about to buy some 3/4 jackhammers but now I will be putting some football jigs to good use!

thank you for posting this.  I bought some from TW and completely forgot about them.

Report back on how they work, and show us pics! I haven't tried them on a football jig, but I have used them on a football-shaped swing head jig and caught fish before so it should definitely work (as long as the eye is vertical) :)

I haven't bought any of these yet, but they honestly seem like a great concept, and I'm surprised it took someone this long to get these produced.

I remember there was a post about these in the tackle making forum a little while back...

Here it is, some good reading if you are having any trouble getting them to work.

Now I have to find a football jig with a vertical line tie.  All of mine are horizontal!
