Lure trendiness...

Featured Replies

Been fishing for years and lures in my opinion are not trendy. In fact I am going to hit the lake today.....bringing my spiders, turtle, bat, duck, shutter step and hollow body sunfish lures with me.

I agree!  This flat worm craze is out of control.  It's just a worm.  No better than any other worm.    I should probably mention that I've got some on order just in case I'm wrong.

  • It's all just FOMO.  Every new lure that comes out that produces one or two fish for an angler is the next chatterbait until proven otherwise.  They're not all jumping on the new lure because it's pro

  • Surely I will find one in a tree one day

Just to prove my point I listed my stand up Viper jigs for sale for the 1st time ever.

Not a single inquiry from BR members.

I listed my Vinyl jig skirts, no inquiries from BR members.

Friday a freind of mine came over to visit and noticed all the stuff in my garage andxI mentioned I selling everything. He mentioned this to a local bass angler and Saturday morning I get a call if I am selling my jigs, he came right over a hour later.

Joe bought all my jigs and vinyl skirts, saying he couldn't believe anyone didn't jump on this immediately. I said it isn't new but nothing on the market works better.

You all missed out on a one time offer.

Tom

Not gonna lie I thought about those jigsheads...

Problem is I still have about 80 lbs of untied jig heads in storage including standup ones I still need to go through, so ultimately I didn't pull the trigger ?

Lures can be compared to toys, action figures, model cars, collections etc.

There's a lot of people that just collect them.

I have a gold lipless crankbait. Looks like a piece of jewelry.

Also guilty of a ton of plastics that I don't use

I like my money! so no I don't get sucked in.  For years no one talked about hair jigs and then some PRO started catching fish on them in a tournament and everyone had to have them!  Those who know always had them and used them.  I still have tube baits made my Netcraft!! and they still catch fish!!  Same with my old Manns worms.

Mann's worms have been in my box since the early 80s, especially the Augertail.
