Am I pulling you leg with this reply, NO. When I go out in either of my boats besides the canoe I have a small 25# thrust TM store on board alone with a small 12volt battery that will run the 25 on high for about 25 to 30 minutes.

Over reacting, maybe but it only took one time for me to be stranded that I wished to never be stranded again!  I Got back to the bank buy repeated throwing a 10 lb anchor out in the water and dragging the dead boat until I was back at the shore.

Main motor is a 60 horse BigFoot. Primary trolling motor is 55lbs thrust Great White bow mount. Back up/maneuvering trolling motor is a MotorGuide 25lbs thrust transom mount. Between those 3 it would be very unlikely I would get stranded, especially on the waters I normally fish. I absolutely cannot imagine me paddling my 15FT Boston Whaler Super Sport any kind of distance even on a windless, calm day.

I have a double bladed paddle for mine but I also fish out of a kayak....😁😁😁

I used to use a plastic extendable paddle until it snapped off in my hand and I had to paddle back a half a mile with a handle just long enough to get both hands on. So now I use wooden paddles that are a little more expensive .

When in open water and a 10-15 mph wind, that paddle wont do much, the wind/ waves will choose your path.  I keep a small kicker motor and a bow mount electric with my main motor, no more paddling for this old boy !!
