The Charlie Brewer Company of TN, will soon be celebrating 50 yrs in the tackle business. Lots of baits and styles come and go, but the Slider has stood the test of time. A family run business, all the jigs and plastics for this light tackle bass fishing style are still manufactured in TN. Charlie Brewers Slider helped to popularize light tackle bass fishing, starting in 1970. Congratulations to the Slider Company.??

Before the days of internet I can remember my grandpa discovering this bait and figuring out how well it worked on the panfish he chased.  I was probably 10 years old and I can remember him, my dad, and his brothers all gathering around the table looking at the Slider catalog and putting together an order that would last the family YEARS!!!

Been using the slider spider head for 20ish years. Haven't used a worm weight and worm hook since I made that switch.

I use the classic spiders with the bronze hook, and the spider pros with the bulkier hooks and love them both.  The hookup ratios are so great that I'm surprised they aren't more popular among more finesse guys today.

The slider is what I have used the last 3 trips.  It has produced a mixed bag of 149 fish on those trips (black bass, white bass and crappie).  I got 2 packs of everything that they make in every color that they offer a while back.  Next to the Ned it is my go to light tackle bait. 

The Slider heads are amazing for rigging anything slimmer than a Senko, the 1/16oz Pro heads and a 7” Powerworm or 6” Zoom Lizard are a match made in heaven.  

Just a suggestion: if you get Charlie Brewer's book on Slider fishing I suggest you upgrade your rod to a medium or medium heavy.

 

The light weight rod Charlie recommends can cause hooking problems as you do not have the power to properly set the hook.

 

Just my two cents.  Please keep this to yourself. It is a secret.

 

Note to any new purchasers of Brewer jig heads:  Historically the actual jig head weights have been lighter than the advertised head weights.

I have great luck with tubes on the slider spider heads, pro and classic. The hook up rate is really high. Fish the to stay on really well too. 
 

Also perfect on Menace, assault bugs, and spicy beavers too.
