will i look like a nut in a duck boat?

Featured Replies

looks like i wont be able to get motor for my 15 ft v hull, so ill have to fish from a duck boat.  its a 10' "sneakboat", 36" bottom, super stable, has sides that really flare out.  i can easily sit or stand and fish with no worries.  will be running a 55lb trolling motor.  my question is, does anyone else use your duck boats to fish?  i may look like a nut out there in a camo sneak boat....i dunno...me and boats dont seem to be working out to well, and its all i got.  whatcha think?

Kinda sorta.... only I look at it the otherway around.  I use my fishing boat to duck hunt out of  :o

Anything that gets you on the water is better than nothing.  Heck I've fished off of a homemade 10'x10' Huckleberry-Fin style raft before made from 2x4s and floating barrels.  Attachd to it was a WAY underpowered 30 lb thurst TM but hey, it got me around.

who cares. go fishing.

ive yet to see a bank fisherperson laugh at someone who has the run of the lake as they choose. when i run up on other ppl fishing the only thing i care about is how theyre doing as far as the bite goes.

i like the way you look at it ;D  thanks for the replies!

I get the " can you catch fish out of a duck boat?" thing a lot, but no worries.  Mine is paid for and fish react to it the same as they do a Skeeter

Take advantage of having that DUCK boat, you can get into spots that regular boats can't go. I own a fancy bass/flats boat, but I still tear more bass up from my camo jon boat that I also use as my duck boat. So to hell with looking like a nut! :o

Is this you?

There is a boat builder around here who used to build something similar to this in fiberglass. It was a bit beamier with wider side decks, and it was a two man version.

He sold as many to fishermen as he did to hunters. Some used them for both pursuits.

You will look less like a nut with a full livewell. Give me a log with a TM and lawn chair, and some tackle I will fish out of it. A true fisherman may laugh at ya, but we will admire your spirit.
