I love their stuff, absolutely love it. I caught my first bass on a Rainbow Trout F-7, graduated to larger jerkbaits like the Husky Jerk and the X-Rap. My favorite bass bait to this day is a DT-6.

 

Just saw all their promos for the OG Slim, how it grew out of Ott's garage and all that. But isn't the OG Slim just a DT-Flat with a different lip and line tie?

 

Don't get me wrong, I'll still get a few because they haven't made any flat-sided crankbaits since discontinuing the DT Flat, but I'd rather they be upfront about it if it is.

Yep, It is what it is!! A modified DT Flat, not a true DT Flat. Buy some and catch fish with them. 

Knock on the DT flats I heard back in the day was the bill breaking or pulling out of the bait. The entire DT lineup had that reputation but they seem to have corrected that issue. So now with the better glue or epoxy they use and incorporating the more durable bill material they should be an improved bait. I also personally prefer a line tie in the bait not the bill.

I've always loved the original floating minnow it was always a reliable fish catcher for me. I just picked up a Skitter V and it's probably my new favorite rapala. But that og slim does look nice though might need to try one some day.

I  saw that. Being a Rapala Freak I will try a few. Couple of patterns that will work for me I’m sure. Not seeing them available yet. They appear to be a slight redesign.

Your initial reaction was the same as mine. Why don't they call it the DT-Flat 2.0? Booyah was not very shy saying the XCS Squarebill was the old XCalibur squarebill. 

What happened to the DT Thug? Caught bunches of smallies on that lure.

That is because many of us were very disappointed/angry that bait wasn’t brought back right away like the lipless. They knew that many would buy in bulk when they rereleased it. I bought 18 of them others in here bought more. I don’t think the DT flat was as popular as the Xcalibur SB.

Got discontinued awhile back. One common issue was the bills would break. After they got discontinued, I believe it was Tennessee River guys it started to get popular.

Ya I had one where the bill broke just like any DT crank, but they sure do catch fish.
