MLF SCALES

Featured Replies

I am looking for a new scale which is accurate and waterproof.  Does anyone know what the MLF uses?  I'm also open to recommendations based on personal experience.

MLF uses Becknell Electro Samson scales.  They are pricey and have a reputation for poor moisture resistance.  Mine is three years old and I haven’t had any issues but I take good care of it.  I also carry Chatillon and Son’s brass scales which are indestructible and what I used for most fish.

I have & use the "MLF" Scale and an Accu-Cull set up.

They are both very good.

The Accu-Cull is on sale however . . .

I use the rapala high contrast digital scale.

I don’t use my scale a lot, as I prefer to measure my fish instead. But I have not experienced any issues.

The most important item is that the scale has a clip to hold the fish, not a hook. The hook can cause damage and the fish can easily come off and smack down on the floor or ground and die.
