Shimano Curado 100D/DSV parts

Featured Replies

I need a drive shaft for A 100D/DSV part#BNT3554

they are pretty much non existent, been searching for months. I’ve searched all parts suppliers that I know of, Mike’s, dads ol tackle, ereplacement, local places, no luck. If anyone has a parts reel or knows where I might find one, Let me know

It's getting very hard to find older reel parts. One almost has to invest in old reels as they show up on e-bay just to scavenge parts. Curado 100B, D, Chronarch MG 50, or JDM Scorpion 1000 or 1000 MG are all the same platform. I'm not sure but I think the 100D had an aluminum drive shaft but a brass one should cross reference.

I’m also a reel tech, specializing in Shimano’s..It actually does have a brass drive shaft, I have 9 100D’s and 2 MG 50’s Cause that’s the platform I like to fish with. That reel is just a paperweight without the drive shaft though..threads are stripped is the problem at the nut and you can’t build it up with JB weld and retap cause of the way it’s designed. Any ideas are welcome.

Is it possible to see if a newer drive shaft would fit?

Only driveshaft that I’ve found to be close to it is a CU-100B but it won’t work

Keep checking ebay, used Citica 100dsv reels pop up fairly often and are cheaper to buy.

That lineup of Citica/Curado reels was a personal favorite of mine too, the SLX reels I own now remind me of them.

I would call Shimano directly.  It may take some time to get in touch with someone but you may get lucky.

Another idea is to send it to them for repair.  I have heard stories of guys sending older reels needing parts that have been discontinued and they find something that works.
