Considering snatching one on sale to go with my tat sv. Mainly for Ned  rigs and wacky rigs. So can this thing dog light Texas rigs also just curious? Wondering how versatile it is

One of my favorite rods. When I fish ned rigs I fish 1/16 and 3/32, so I wouldn't use this rod. What I use it for are 1/8-1/4 shaky heads, 3.5-4" swimbaits on belly weighted/underspin hooks,

1/4 bitsy bugs jigs, 1/8-5/16 t rigs, and poppers. It excels at all of these baits.

It's one of best balanced rods I have ever used. I use it with a Tatula SV too, and it's a fantastic combo.

I’m primarily a bank bound fisher at this moment how does it do getting them away from cover

It is a 2 power rod, so it's not going rip a 6lber out heavy stuff. However for it's rating it has good back bone, and imo a perfect 10-12lb line rod.

I have hooked into some big 7-8lb catfish, and it was a fun fight. The rod handled them well.

Thank you sir I do believe you’ve sealed my decision. So it not to overloaded with 1/4 oz jigs?

Yeah. I would say if you want to go heavier get the 3 power rod for that stuff.

Great rod

I’ve got a 683 I’ve been using for spinnerbaits and senkos. Just want to throw neds and light t rigs and stil have the power to make a longer hook set. Downfall of being bank bound lol

Id say 1/4 jigs would be better on there 703 to be honest.

702 is perfect for 1/4oz Bitsy bug jigs, they have a medium gauge hook, and light weed guard.

Thanks guys. I have a 3 I can use for jigs. This is mainly for neds and senkos around sparse cover and long cast. So I guess I’m on the right track?

The 702C rod will be fine, it’s the line you choose with lighter weight lures that is key. I would stay in the .009-.010 D range.

Personal preference. I too prefer a 3 power for even 3/16oz finesse jigs with a trailer.

I know there’s a ton of personal preference in it. Just wondering if it’s got the umph I need on a long hook set. I know the 3 does for my jigs. This is my first voyage in to a 2 power dobyns
