Curado mgl 70 wheelhouse?

Featured Replies

Is a 1/8 bullet weight, 4/0 hook and 10-12 lb line and maybe a zoom speed craw in the wheelhouse of an 70 mgl?

Depends on rod but the reel can toss that light of weight if the rod has a little tip.

I have a Curado 70 HG with 12 lb. InvizX, and I definitely have no problem casting what you've described accurately. Last year I used my rig to cast 4" Buzz Bugs from Mister Twister, weightless. I figure the new MGL will cast quite a bit better than my old 70. I use a M/MF rod rated 1/4-5/8.

How far you want to cast ...... well, that's up in the air. I never measured distance with weightless plastics, and they don't go super far. They go far enough, though.    ?    jj

Yep, reel will handle that with ease.

I have 3 Curado 70s.  One is for  shaky, one for cranks and one for Neds.

I have the SLX MGL, it will throw a weightless trick worm and 3/16oz spinnerbait well. Your good to go :)

You’re right on track. Get Loomis 852 JWR and you have a magical setup. It’s very versatile.

I have two setups that I use. It's great for all light stuff, jigs, t rigs, senkos, poppers.

The Curado 70 MGL is a hell of a reel.

I hope so, lol.

I just got one for Xmas and it's going on my 853c NRX. I'll be throwing light texas rigs and light jigs on it.
