Don Iovino 1/4oz Jig - what is similar?

Featured Replies

I realize that there isn't anything intrinsically special about the jig, but it's a strong confidence bait for me.  I bought a bunch of them direct from Don in the early 2000's and when I need a bite they have been my goto.  This is my last one.  Would love to buy some more or something similar.  Anyone have any recommendations?

It's been 10 years since I've had a boat...that one is in rough shape.

The Starburst jig.  I have several myself.  I didn't know Don stopped offering them.  I think California Reservoir jigs still makes them. I'd reach out to Don via his website and ask if he knows who is selling them if they don't.

I don't remember that one, but if you can't find it,  I would match up the jig/hook size, locate the rubber skirts, tie them on and add the little orange fuzz ball.

It kind of reminds me of a 'Bitsy bug' jig by Strike King?

Bills jigs made Iovino jigs and Bill passed away.

Skinny Bear series is close.

Thanks!  I sent Don a note.  Bought them at a Bassmasters University event eons ago. Hope he responds that he has some!

I was a big fan of the Iovino Starburst and Football jigs and sad to see them go. Will definitely be checking out the companies mentioned above, thanks all.

Oh and a note on the Skinny Bear jigs, they are more heavy duty/substantial than the Iovino Starburst. They are still great jigs though
