Chatterbait Snap Bending?

I don't know about the jackhammer, but I replace the duo locks with coast locks on all my chatterbaits, no matter the maker. I also close down the clip with needlenose, since they aren't coming off once attached. Never had a problem.

Always. Owner hyper in 72lb or P-line similar design in 60-ish lb. I bought the p-line because the owners were out. I think I like it a little better because the owners are silver and that bugs me. Fish probably don't care, but I do.

Thanks! Picked up some VMC #3 67lb double snap last night (nice that they are so cheap) and replaced my bent out ones. It’s tricky getting those swivels on and off the blade but eventually got it!

Slightly larger swivel than the standard they come with but I’m not expecting a negative impact on performance.

I've had very bad experiences with VMC snaps in general.

Never had any problems with the snaps. And last week I actually hooked into something large in the water, not sure it if was a shopping cart, or some other large piece of (unfortunately) garbage. Between some patience and 50lb braid I was able to get the item moved around 10 ft closer to me. Finally got it free, the snap was slightly bent (pulled straight), but the hook was what bent out for me to get it free. You know the gauge of hook on the Jack Hammer, not easy to bend

I’ve had the stock jackhammer snaps come unbuttoned while fishing but they weren’t badly bent. Didn’t notice until I casted and sent my bait halfway across the lake and reeled in to find the snap still tied to my line.

Also wanted to note the snap/clip on the Stealth Blade is pretty strong. This was on 30lb braid emoji_u1f605.png

Z Man was great though, sent them a picture of this and they sent me a new lure.
