I wouldn't want to put a 1/2 oz jig on it, personally. I think 3/8 is top end for that rod, especially with any cover. I mostly use mine for shaky heads, senkos, and finesse jigs.

I have been using an NRX893 for those type of baits and it has worked out really good.

I am on the fence with this one. I can say it doesn't seem to negatively affect anything, but I haven't had an experience where it made a truly noticeable difference either. One thing I have observed about it is that after it sits in a bag with plastics for some time it seems to thicken quite a bit.

I doubt they did away with it. You can go to their website and sign up for which catalog/s you want to receive. My guess is they went away from just sending it out to everyone to now just those that have specifically requested it. I would give that a try. Their master catalog is one of them you can select to receive.

Add some lube just before the knot and pull on the other end of the legs to get the knot worked back into the frog.

I love a metanium on my 873 but would maybe lean slightly more toward the new bantam on an 894.
