When to buy Seaguar Tatsu?
I am wondering what the best time or place is to pick up Tatsu fluorocarbon line throughout the year? I recall Tackle Warehouse has a pretty big sale at Christmas time on Seaguar, but wasn't sure if there were better deals out there and I have never bought it before.

Skipping weightless lures - Daiwa SV or Shimano DC ?
I experienced the same thing with my 2015 metanium dc. Thought it was going to be the ultimate skipper but was pretty underwhelmed. Did you ever get to test the antares dc 4x8 to compare against your steez. I am more of a shimano guy but was thinking of getting the jdm 8:1 gear steez sv tw just for skipping. If the antares would be even better i would likely go that route though. Any input is appreciated!

Best wacky rig hook for senkos
I have been really happy with using 2/0 Lazer Trokar Weedless Wacky hooks personally.

Nrx/glx 853c
I use the nrx 893 for weightless senkos and shakey heads. it works great for those techniques for me. I am sure the 853 would do well for you with senkos, especially if there is in any amount of cover you are fishing in.

Skipping with Metanium DC
Thanks for the feedback, I have heard this from others as well. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket spool for Shimano that would be just like the SV spool for skipping?

Rod recommendation needed
If you want to stay in the Orochi XX lineup you will definitely want to step up the Aaron Martins Flipping Special. I am not sure what model that equates to on the new 2018 lineup, but I have that Aaron Martins Rod and it is awesome for 3/4 oz. and 1 oz. I use it for punching and heavy flipping with those two weights. It is a little longer than what you mentioned though at 7'9". A couple other great options would be a Dobyns Champion Extreme HP 746 or G. Loomis IMX Pro Casting Rod 7'3" Extra Hvy 875C CRR.

Skipping with Metanium DC
3/8 mostly. Perhaps my reel isn't working properly correctly, or I need more time with it.. I bought it used and have never had a dc reel previously so had no idea what to expect.

Skipping with Metanium DC
Currently I have a 13 Shimano Metanium reel that I have used primarily for skipping 3/8 jigs. I have been practicing a lot over the last year or two to get better. I have been using 20 lb. sniper fluorocarbon with my reel setup and have improved quite a bit over that time. I thought possibly a dc reel might help me out even more, so I purchased a used 15 metanium dc and took it out for the first time the other weekend. Needless to say I was a bit underwhelmed with how it handled the braking versus my other reel. I had it set primarily on the #4 setting, which is the most breaking possible, and still had more than normal backlashes happening. Now for normal casts it seemed to do great, but I guess I was expecting a little more from it for a skipping application. Anyone else discover the same thing or have any thoughts/recommendations? Maybe dc reels are better served for longer cast applications, but it wasn't exactly what I was expecting for some reason.

Dock fishing and crazy home owners
That is what I do as well out of respect for those who are outside or especially those using their docks. I would be a lot more apt to just quietly move on if I was asked politely to not fish there then to have some guy came flying out of his house screaming and cussing me out.

Dock fishing and crazy home owners
I will have to keep that one in my back pocket, thanks Rambler!

Dock fishing and crazy home owners
One of my favorite things to do is fishing docks for bass, and for some reason this year in particular, I have had quite a few homeowners come out barking at me that I am not allowed to fish by their dock....etc. Mind you I am very careful and respectful of others' space and if kids are swimming or people are out and about I go completely around that area altogether. I have had a lot of people this year come out of their lake houses and completely freak out on me (every swear word imaginable) for fishing by their dock. I am sure there are others that have experienced this as well and I am just wondering if any of you have feedback on the best way to respond/react to these people. I have for the most part bit my tongue and moved on, but it really bugs me to take this position since they clearly think that they own the water too. Any advice for a fellow dock fisherman?

2018 G Loomis E6X 844 MBR vs 854 JWR
Thanks for the input NHBull.

2018 G Loomis E6X 844 MBR vs 854 JWR
I am wondering what the differences are between these two rods for those of you that have used them. I am looking for more of an all purpose MH rod and from my experience with other g loomis series rods the 4 power is likely what I would want. This would be used mostly as a moving bait rod primarily for 1/2 oz. spinnerbaits (in some cover) and also pull light duty with other techniques.

Will ebay do a 20% off for labor day with no restrictions, or was the 15% off the other day all we will likely see?

Jerkbait treble hooks and depth
Yeah that was my concern with modifying things. Thanks for all the other feedback too guys. For the record I have been using 14 lb fluorocarbon, so perhaps dropping down will help a little.

Jerkbait treble hooks and depth
I got into jerkbait fishing a little bit this year for the first time and have a question regarding the hooks. I bought a couple lunker hunt brand jerkbaits and although they have awesome action they tend to run a couple feet shallower than I would prefer. They suspend around that three feet mark. I was hoping for more around the 5-6' range. I have heard of people changing out the trebles to get them to change the slow sink/float aspects and I assume you could also get the same effect on how deep they run. Maybe I should just get deeper running jerkbaits and not mess with it, but wanted to get some input from you guys.

Seaguar Tatsu Vs Sunline Shooter
Hi BR, I hear these are both great lines, but am wondering what the characteristic differences are between the two. I have used shooter before in 20 lb. for pitching jigs and was very happy with it, but have not used Tatsu. I really like the minimal stretch aspect of shooter compared to lots of others out there. Any thoughts on the two for those of you who have used them would be appreciated.

Looking for the *perfect* jig
Roadwarrior, how does this jig head fair in lots of vegetation compared to an arky style head? I also have been looking for a great all around jig, but grass and other sorts of vegetation are probably what I encounter the most here.

Which Megabass Orochii To Get???
I'd go with the new perfect pitch model. I am pretty certain, like the others have said, you will end up liking it even better than your old Jig and Worm. I had the jig and worm rod for a little while and there was just something about it that seemed very lifeless to me.

G. Loomis 853/854 vs 893/894
The 873 or 854 would be a great choices too.

Flipping rod?
If you can swing it the Champion 766 or Champion Extreme 795 are some great options.

G. Loomis 853/854 vs 893/894
I would go with the 4 power. My absolute favorite is the 894 NRX. If your fishing 1/2 oz. potentially, or in moderate cover, this is the rod you will want. For open water applications, and 3/8 oz. weight and under, the 893 will be great though. I like the 7'5" length for easier pitching, but that is just my personal preference. I think the 893 is a tiny bit more sensitive than the others, but it really doesn't have that much power if your fishing in cover. I also have the 873 and 854. The 873 is right in the middle between the 854 and 894 to me. Great rod, I use that rod for 1/4 oz. and 3/8 oz. texas rigs. The 854 I use for skipping docks and it is a great for that because it has a slightly softer tip compared to the others. As far as power I would rate them as such: 853, 893, 854, 873, then 894. Hope this helps.

Line Recommendation
The Power Pro Hi Vis Yellow really stands out, much more so than a green colored braid.

Which Dobyns Rod Power? M, MH, H ?
734 is the model you want.
