I have a few glide baits and and brand in particular, I’m not really understanding. It’s the Baitsanity Antidote, slow sink glide bait.  I let it sink for a few seconds, but on retrieve, it rises and is more of a just under the water wake bait. I do use a slow, slow retreive.

 

I have a few S-Wavers and those seem to stay under a foot or so under the water. 

 

Any of you who have the Baitsanity Antidote, is this a common thing for this glide bait? I read the praising reviews of the Antidote on TW, but from what I can tell, it’s not what I expected.

Don't know anything about the Baitsanity Antidote but looked at it on YouTube and if it's a slow sink, it is a sub-surface bait.  A glide bait worked slowly just under the water, waking the surface is mighty tempting and easy meal for a big bass. I'd play it that way. You could add weight if you wanted a deeper presentation. 

I had a similar issue with an Antidote that I had. I ended up upsizing the hooks and split rings, and that helped keep it down more. 

I think their slow sink is a ROF 5 which means 5 inches per second sink rate. You can downsize your line, use fluoro, and/or weight the hook keepers with lead wire to get it to behave how you want. How deep do you want it?

Volfan, I’d like to sink fast enough to get to whatever depth I need, no more than say 6’ under. I have some lead tape, I’ll try and put 2 or 3 strips on the Antidote swim baits. 

 

I know you know the line needs to sink about the rate as the lure. If this glide is rising as it’s retrieved adding weight may help to reduce the rise but it apparently wants to rise.

I don't have that issue with mine but I think it's the slow sink and not the super slow sink so that could be why.
