Texas Tackle for the big stuff.

For the really small stuff, search on Amazon for Jeweler's split ring pliers.

Your body grows a split ring opener, it's called your fingernail!  God gave us fingernails for a reason.

Ya - to scratch your partner's back while....nevermind

Some of us have brittle nails - I try open a split-ring with mine and they will split to the bed and I bleed.

Yikes. That happens when my nails are short.

I got some lures from a buddy, and he used split ring pliers to open his split rings, and a lot of the split rings were bent and open a little bit instead of laying flat.

If I can use my nails I will, if not I'll use another hook to open the ring.

Kastking cutthroat split ring pliers. Work for most of my lures.

I have a scissor/split ring plier hybrid tool I got off of eBay for really small split rings.

I've tried well over a dozen different split ring pliers. Some I've even bought more than once. Many rusted. Most were basically useless. One of you guys turned me on to the Xuron pliers, and those work the best. So far, so good after a couple months. They got some good use during spring tackle cleaning. I've used them for the dogs tags as well. They work.
