Dobyns rod explanation

Featured Replies

Hey guys I know dobyns are popular around here and I’m also on that train. But I know lots of questions pop up about the mag heavy Sierra and medium heavy champ 735 differences. So I grabbed this little explanation I saw on Facebook. I hope this helps anyone that is looking to go down this route

In regular casting rods such as the Sierra 735c it doesn't go any heavier than a Mag-H, but if in their pitching & flipping rods where the handles are longer and the lure ratings I believe go higher, they have to call that one a MH to be able to call the others with higher lure ratings a H and Mag-H. But, that's just my guess

I was pretty close.

"I could label it more clearly, but it might cost me sales" Awesome!

I think there’s other factors that play. You label it the same as champ 735 you’re going to expect the same action as the champ 735. And they behave very very different

I think it highlights the fact that these are just normal people running these companies.  With Dobyns, it's always good to go directly to them with questions about specific rods.  The dialog here is important too.
