Luke Barnes
Has gotten me absolutely hooked on making soft plastics. Ive spent hours and hours watching him shoot plastics. I'm fascinated by it and really wanted to get into it until..... I watched a video he did about what you need to get started with quality stuff. I can see how it can get crazy expensive in a hurry with all the different colors, dyes, pigments, glitters, plastisol formulas. That's not even mentioning molds or the injectors! But wow is it cool to watch. I really like the color match videos where he matches popular colors from scratch. I never knew core shots were a thing either. Anyone else watch and enjoy his videos?
Michigander
Yes, I like his channel. Learned a lot of the basics. I'm dipping my toe in this year. I'm going to try 3D printing molds and if that works then the biggest cost for personal use will be dropped significantly.

I do! And I've spent this pandemic learning 3D design so I can print basically anything my mind comes up with now. The experimentation process will determine if I can print nice injection molds or if I need to be printing masters and making injection molds out of metal resin. And by "nice" I mean from a heat dissipation point of view.

InfantryMP
I watch all of his videos. I have 3 molds that I make baits from. It can get very expensive very quickly. I think he has a great personality, and a good creative vision. He does very well with matching too, and it just seems like he is winging it, but he has been doing it for years.

I dont know what kind of material you print with and know nothing about heat dissipation and all that, but I find it all very interesting. 12 hours ago, InfantryMP said: I watch all of his videos. Creative and experienced but he has a good personality that makes me want to listen to him talk. I can tell when he eye balls stuff and it comes out perfect he has been doing it a long time.
