GYCB Hulas & DT Grubs

Featured Replies

Curious to know if any of you use these grubs exclusively as jig trailers?

I use the both 4” and 5” DT Hula grubs as a jig trailer and on Slip Shot rig. The #305 Baby Bass with 3/0 Owner Light Screw Lock hook look like a school of fry, killer during post spawn.

DT grubs are good on just about everything you can think of.  Sometimes Ill put a HG on a jig with the inner layer skirt cut out, but most of the time Im just throwing them on a jighead and using them like a jig.

I like dragging skirted grubs on football heads, with a lighter wire hook.

Toying with the idea of cutting off the skirts on hulas, then using them as a jig trailer. The hulas are offered in a wider range of colors.

Leave the skirt on it adds to fullness, nothing negative. If you cut the skirt off save it and weld it to any other grub like a Chigger Craw...

Use the standard DT almost exclusively in winter. Cinnamon blk/prp flake teams up perfectly with super matt brown (dirty jigs). Best thing is the DT's even at retail are only 0.35 each.

If Im using a hula grub on a jig most of the time Im trimming either the jig skirt or the hula grubs skirt.

I still have a stash of GYCB Single Tail Grubs that are KILLER!  I T-rig them weedless

with a 3/0 offset worm hook and 1/4 o bullet weight.
