Too many pros using them now for everyone not to be throwing them. Little adjustments make a big difference though.

Chatterbaits being too big is one of the problems I have on my 3acre pond, what would you consider to be a compact trailer to make the bait more smaller? The Zakos make the chatterbait pretty big IMO

3.8 iShads, 3.5 spunk shads, little fuzzys, smallie beavers all go really well with the Zman TW Custom ChBs.  Trimming or completely removing the inner layer on the lower end of the skirt can dramatically change the profile of the bait.  Skirts are cheaper then ChBs, so I buy a half dozen GP, half dozen black and half dozen white and change the skirt if I want to match a particular color.  You dont always have to change the skirt to change the color, just changing the color of the trailer makes a big difference.

Lol that's what i was thinking, I used to use Yum swimin dingers and it made my bait look much smaller, I had to trim most of the worm though.

Ive done really well using Fluke Sticks which is just a Senko knock off with a split tail.

I use Chatterbaits a lot. As far as conditions, windy conditions are the number 1 determining factor for me. I actually fish them pretty fast. They work great  for me over the top of weed beds and in shallow water as long as you keep the blade moving. The majority of my strikes come fairly soon after hitting the water. As far as trailer, I use a variety of sizes ...The 10000 Saw Craw is my most productive.  The Creme Speed Screamer is probably my second.

A 4" Fluke Stick Would be ideal , Zoom doesn't make one so you would have to trim about 1 inch off of the 5" Fluke Stick ... ** I like and use Yum Swimmin' Dinger and Yum Thumpin' Dinger and then cut them down to 4.25" used as chatterbait trailers .

I usually put a Fat Albert on the back of a chatter bait and cast it out into the vegetation. I retrieve it slow and keep it just above the weeds.
