An interesting thread and full of information, thank you all for sharing. I'm learning Carolina riggin' and I've had a little success so far, enough that I think it's going to be a great addition to my arsenal. Thanks all again.

I’m a big believer in mono leaders and floating plastics. They rise on the pause after the pull. Whether it’s floating above the silt the sinker kicks up, or the fact the lure stops in the fishes face - I find a higher percentage of fish caught when they can see and easily identify it.

Floating plastics I like:

GrandeBass -  Airtail Neko Worm, Airtail Rattler, Airtail Wiggler

Big Bite Baits - Flying Squirrel

Bass Pro Shops Floating Lizard

Thank you. I've not tried any floating plastics yet. I bet that BPS floating lizard will tickle my fancy as I already love Zoom lizards.

Double Z baits make soft plastics the float. Take a look at 5” craw.

It depend on whether I'm working it fast or slow.  For a fast presentation, I like a7.5in. Culprit worm. For a slower one I like something that floats, or sinks very slowly. A floating Zoom trick worm (I forget what they call them) or a tube with some air blown into it are my favorites.

If I'm using a french fry, it will be on a split shot rig.
