Shimano warranty process

Featured Replies

I sent a broken Expride rod back to Shimano in May, which ended up passing the warranty inspection in mid-June. They told me today that I would get my replacement rod in February 2022.

I know there are challenges due to the pandemic and labor shortages, but this seems like an awfully long delay. Not to mention nobody seems to have any answers to my questions when I request a status update. Just wondered whether anyone else has had a similar experience recently?

Shimano handles the jackall lure warranties.  I was blown away by their service.  Like dumbstruck.   I bet they simply don’t have one in stock (?)

good luck.

This might be too late and not applicable anyway, but my snapped expride in May was back in my hands in 10 days going through tacklewarehouse during all their covid restrictions.  I was impressed.  Maybe that was all tacklewarehouse's doing, maybe not.  Sure is a bummer that Shimano is costing you 9 months of use and it certainly seems like terrible service to me.  I would not be happy.

I should have looked into TW before sending the broken rod back but unfortunately it’s too late now. The frustrating part is that I was originally told in June that there was a 30-day turnaround time and somehow that became 7-8 months according to the rep. Hoping that there’s just some sort of misunderstanding and they will make things right.

Back in the good ol days shimano had a lifetime warranty on rods and you could return them to same place and get a new one them days are all gone wish you luck

I sent a UL Clarus I snapped in a boatseat back that got there 3 weeks ago and I haven't heard the first thing from them yet, so this thread isn't giving me any more confidence.

The same happened to me, no response for about a month after the rod arrived at their facility. I’d probably call them again and request an update.

Just as an update, I got it back last week. Had no communication with them until they sent me a tracking # with one-day shipping. Haven't got to use it again yet because I had to buy a reel for it plus it's rained every day this week.
