I frequently fish a 16 acre watershed behind my house. Most of the time I’m just beating the bank from my kayak and focus on the brush piles and wood lay downs. Like everyone else, there are times I still cannot find the fish.
There are entire sections of the bank that have this mossy vegetation that “floats” and I can see small minnows  all around it. 
Do bass hide in stuff like this? If so, how would you fish this stuff? When I have thrown a T-rig into it with a 1/4oz. weight it usually just pulls this slop to me and I have to pull it off the line. But I’m convinced there’s fish in there! 

Soft plastic buzztoad.

Topwater frog or you are going to have to use something heavier to punch through it, 1/4oz won't work, 3/4oz or larger probably.  I also work flukes across the top and let them fall into the openings on the retrieve.  Another thing that seems to help is using something like megastrike on the plastic so it helps it slip through a little better.

 

Weightless plastic, or a frog. Kill it in-between the holes and hold on.

your options are limitless, what do you like to throw? what are the fish eating? you can throw a weedless spoon in there, pitch and flip soft plastics or jigs, you can throw a frog or toad, as long as its weedless, you can throw it, fish the holes and fish the openings, fish the edges outside, even throw swimbaits in there or fish them along the outside by open water right by the overhanging cover.

I have tried throwing and retrieving crankbaits and spinnerbaits along the outside edges and haven’t had any bites. There are lots of holes in this mossy grass that I think I’ll try some of these suggestions. 
Question is, y’all think there’s some fish under there?

i would throw a frog or a punching rig with a d bomb

I'd throw a buzzbait, swim jig, frog, and a texas rig around all that.
