  1. I've always wanted to do something along these lines, but become way too paranoid about to "what-ifs". I'm sure nothing would happen, just my mind loves to run wild with thoughts like such.
  2. I don't buy expensive swimbaits because I know it'll turn more into a thing of collecting them than actually being used for fishing.
  3. As long as the wind isn't blowing over 15mph and no monsoon type rains. Being in a kayak with heavy gusts is no bueno.
  4. Never crossed my peanut brain to add a barrel weight when you don't enough oomph to get through the mats. Thanks for opening my mind! I know what I'm doing tomorrow.
  5. I've always got a beer or two, maybe more depending how long I'll be out. On the hot days, I'll be beer with a 64oz water bottle and Gatorade. My kayak gives me access to pee while standing or sitting so its great.
  6. I'll try and bring a snack and drinks if I'm being out longer than 4 hours. When I do, usually consists of meat sticks, cheese, hot Cheetos or Doritos, and couple beers. Need something that's popable and don't have to stop and sit.
  7. Here comes some more of my monies headed your way! Great Stuff, as always.
  8. I don't mind if there is someone at the dock/outside, I'll still fish the dock as long as it has no boats on it. As I approach/drift by I'll wave and usually get a wave back and I'm on my way. People are usually nice or don't say anything
  9. I just picked up my first pair of sun pants and they're a game changer. I already wore the sun hoodies but always had shorts on. I'm way cooler all day without the sun burn. I've bought several more once I realized how great they are.
  10. "Sorry, boss! Drag was spinning too loud, couldn't hear the phone ring!"
  11. I get real depressed/anxious if I don't get out on the water. After 2 weeks of no fishing, I'm major down in the dumps. Even in winter, I still get out to calm myself.
  12. Haven't got pooped on, but have had my Taco Bell wrapper get blasted by poop from the sky assassins while the burrito sat out once. Couldn't finish it, too close for comfort of the splash zone.
  13. Not sure, I always check and think that'll have an effect but my trip on Monday said different. Bio Pressure was 30.15 and had the best day of the year so far. Only 4 fish but they were chunky boys for the PNW
  14. In the early morning/late evening times I'd probably be throwing a wake bait or buzz bait. Any other time, would be a swimbait of some sort.
  15. I, too fish barbless or crush the barbs down. Mainly to make it easier on everybody when it comes to releasing. As far as strategy goes, its all about keeping constant tension. As soon as you let that fish get some slack, they usually win.
  16. No thanks, I'll take a bad day at work than hooks to the head/body any day . Work being not a huge stressor is something I try not to take for granted.
  17. I'd second this and for added safety, I recommend some rod sleeves. Honestly, I've had my wife ride with me while I had 4 rods there just fine. Just gotta hug the right side more haha
  18. You did better than I would've. I would've been stuck in my ways and gone home with a big Ol goose egg trying to figure out why the bass suck, I don't suck.
  19. I've always got 2 rods; 1 spinning, 1 baitcaster. Lunch bag that'll have few different plastics, maybe some hardbait if pond/lake allows. Bag will have all the necessary tools and a few beers to keep me "hydrated"
  20. I've got a BPS shop 40 minutes south of me and a Cabela's 50 minutes north. Both are always stocked with house brand which I'm not looking for. Its just easier to hit up TW or many other sites and get what I exactly want, not what's "similar". I'm sure people use and catch fish with BPS stuff but I'm weird about house brands things.
  21. 3.8 Swing Impact Keitech in Smallmouth Magic is my go-to, either underspin or 1/4 ball jig.
  22. After several insane birdnests later and my line is all kinked, ready to break. I mainly use a backer as I'm not trying to burn through all my flouro. If I'm not birdnesting, I'll give it a year. I'll also use some line conditioner.
  23. Hard baits of all kinds. Confidence levels are -3 when I got a hard bait tied on. I've got plenty of them, just can't get myself to tie them on when it comes time. Probably because I want to catch fish and not try other techniques. I'm stuck in my rut!
  24. This was going to be my option, 2 lbs is heavy as frick to be casting. Grab some heavy braid and toss her as hard as you can, good ol handlining it.
  25. Submerged grass, docks, lily pads, and the occasional large chunk rock. Usually equipped with a chatter/spinnerbait, wobble head creature, drop shot, and always some sort of swimbait.
