1. The weatherman always lies.

5. Your best reel will always backlash just as the fish start busting on the surface.

6. You will catch the bush behind you while making that critical cast to a lunker.

7. If the fish are biting, so are the bugs.

8. If you wear waders, they will leak.

9. No matter how carefully you plan your fishing trip, something will come up to interfere with it.

10. If fishing from a boat, either the main motor or the trolling motor will act up.

   10a. The batteries in your boat will always fail in the middle of the fishing trip.

11. Your most expensive lures are the ones that will get irretrievable snagged.

12. You will forget to retie just before you hook your personal best fish.

Add your own Murphys' Law.....and GO......

The fish will hit your lure when you are least paying attention and always in the worst position to set the hook.

If you make the perfect cast, you will foul on your hook or a leaf or a random filament of something that shouldn’t be there.

As soon as you stop the boat for the first time and prepare to make the first cast of the day, your work phone starts vibrating (and no, leaving it at home is not an option!). 

The better looking a spot is to me, the less bass will like it

Drop shot, flickShake and Mojo.

 

Got on the water early to white caps and had to completely change my game plan.

Right as you make ‘that cast’ to where you saw a lot of bait fish being blown up you feel a tickle on your left ankle and look down to see the biggest, hairiest spider you’ve ever seen. True story and yes, I screamed like a little girl.

bring 8 rod/reel/bait combos and the bass only need one.

 

next day, bring just the one...nothing.  

Even if there is only One Deal on my truck, boat, motor or trailer that needs maintenance, and I put it off, you can bet that's what will fail the very next trip out.

I can relate to this one, seemingly on a relatively frequent basis.  You check the conditions the night before, rig up, and when you get there it looks like the Bering Sea.

Yes and I wasn't kidding about yesterday.

Forecast said 6-8 mph west winds and was limited to 3/4 oz jigs and Spinnerbaits......30 mph gusts.

 

When I happened to hook a fish , had to get on the trolling motor and head for open water just to allow time to fight and unhook the fish.

Next time it's forecasted for high winds, I'll be on the water at daylight ?

The one thing you drop overboard while out on the lake will be the one thing that won't float.
