Fiberglass Jon

Featured Replies

I’m thinking about buying a 1990 1460 Fiberglass Jon boat. I will only be using trolling motors and fishing electric only waters mostly. The hull looked to be in pretty good shape. I’ve never owning a fiberglass boat before. Any cons? Anything I should look at before I buy?

It’s heavier and also wider then most aluminum Jon boats that length. The Old Sears KingFisher was about that size.

Look for cracks and know what the material is if repairs are needed.

Nothing wrong with em!

My son recently bought a Carolina Skiff, it a single hull construction so it ain't as heavy as one would think.
