Topwater split ring?

Featured Replies

I noticed my poppers, torpedo, and spook dont have a split ring. Should I add one if tying directly or are slit rings more for baits that move side to side which these dont as much?

Was also thinking of adding one so I can use a swivel snap and change easily or is swivel snap plus split ring bad for some reason?

I'm also having issues with my torpedo spinning around, like rotating itself like the log in log rolling. Should I add a swivel or tie direct or use heavier line?

I just use a snap, but then again I use a snap (without swivel) for everything.

Some people tie a loop knot like a Perfection loop (look it up on youtube) so they get more action out of their topwaters.

I use a snap for most of them but if it doesn't come with a split ring then I wouldn't add one.

Just try to tie a loop knot and see how you make out before you put a split ring or snap on.

Rapala knot, a bit of twisting but works well. Also with original floater divers.
