Anyone tried these yet? Looked very interesting to me so I’ve got a couple on the way from Japan.

No idea how to embed a YouTube video here. Maybe one of you wizards can embed it for me.

I want some, thanks.  They look pretty darn good.

I also want to be able to skip like him!

Being able to skip them into some tight spots is part of the appeal for sure, but the big attraction to me is that they look pretty unique. I fish a lot of high pressured spots, so anytime I can throw something they haven’t seen before I’m all about it.

They are a ton of fun in traditional frog spots.  I bought some from Amazon.jp over the summer and had a lot of luck with the white, chart, and pink ones on some mats.  The big downside to them though is the tail comes off super easy on short strikes.  I probably didn't catch more than 3 fish on any one before a tail would inevitably get pulled off.

Thanks for the info. That’s the one thing that I was worried about, them getting torn up quickly. Guess I’ll have some fun with them while they last!

Been fishing it more like floating worm with fluorocarbon. I cut off that knot protector tip and use an twistlock weightless hook for better durability. Either I add a nail weight or a treble hook on my twistlock hook and let suspend/slow sink/ and walk it 1-2 feet. It likes lighter twitches on your rod, if you pull too hard it'll just move foward has no walking action.

Interesting. Have any pics with the treble hook added?

It looks like what IKE does on this video, but I don't use the bobber stopper to hold. I just hook it to the plastic to hold it.

The video sure was cool. This is the exact kind of thing that will haunt me as the off season sets in. I can’t skip at all, he sure made it look easy.

He makes a  tight, reverse spiral cast to skip.  Most fishermen are so fixed on a back-cast to load the rod, they don't expect centrifugal to load the rod sufficiently, but this is how people have been surf fishing long rods and heavy weights forever.  He's getting serious release velocity, and a perfect horizontal.

He sure did make it look easy, adding to the allure of the bait.
