So for you guys that regularly fish this...is it a good option for cold water? Lets say 40-50 degrees. Also I know guys throw worms, finesse  craws and reapers etc...how about a small tube?

I throw a split shot rig with great success (some days) in cold water.

All the lures you mentioned work for me but i am mostly throwing jigs ive tied at home.

Obviously the maribou / hair jig. And i use alot of bucktail and deer belly.

The deer belly hair is very buoyant so its just deadly in the cold with maribou.

24/7 365 days a year, it's as versatile as a dropshot, you can fish anything on it, it's basically a finesse carolina rig.

I fish with a 4" worm, or a 3" BPS Stiko.  I don't fish with anything bulky, but If the bass seem like they are a little more active I'll fish with a 4" senko.

I would also go with a small tube in cold water. In fact, There have been Decembers here recently when the lakes haven't frozen over, when I did well with standard and smaller tubes. I even tried the AlkaSeltzer trick a few times when fishing was super slow and was able to pick-up a couple of decent fish.
