 2 hummingbird helix 10s

 1 hummingbird solix 12

new boat has some kinks , but when the previous owner used all graphs were working. I take it on the water and the trolling motor mounted helix is not working, but the console helix and solix are. I bring the boat home put it in my garage and try to turn on the console mounts, neither of them turn on. Do you guys know what could be wrong? I can get the trolling motor to run and all of the boat components to work, but the graphs won't turn on. I think it could be the fact that it is in a garage. Could that be the case? may post pictures.

Basics: are they connected to the  ranking battery and are the power cords good. Are any inline fuses blown.

Do you have a multi tester? You could check for continuity and voltage and rule the power cords out. It seems fishy that they'd just stop working. Is there a power switch somewhere (not on the graphs) like a main cut off or something? Can you ask the former owner about it?

And don't be knocking the 'birds twelvey.

Modern depth finders are very sensitive to voltage drops. If the battery voltage drops below a certain point, they won’t operate. The main motor may still just start fine, but a weak battery won’t turn on the depth finder. Charge the battery up to full and try again. The battery might need to be changed if it doesn’t charge up fully.

no multi tester, there is a main power switch and I turn it on before trying the electronics

IF they were working for the previous owner, clean and re-seat ALL the connectors. I worked in Aviation Electronics for 40 years. Even if they hadn't been working for the previous owner, it's a good place to start.

If you hope to track down electrical issues on your own, then this is basically a necessity. Like J Francho mentioned, you can get a cheap one at HF.

Get a multi meter anyway and learn how to use it.  It'll always come in handy.

and use dielectric grease on every connection
