Asian Fishing Portal JDM Casting Rods Worth Buying

Featured Replies

I have seen many top US market rods like the Expride and Zodias from Shimano as a JDM version for very cheap. Does anybody have any suggestions on what good rods I can buy as a 1 piece for a good solid rod for a cheaper price than a US market rod. I am looking for mainly Shimano or Daiwa suggestions but I will consider all. I am also looking at rods that are between a medium power and heavy power.

You can usually find better rod prices at digitaka and other JDM vendors.

AP shines for reel prices and quick service.

A buddy ordered a Twin Power on Friday and it was delivered yesterday.

The rod shipping prices are quite high.

I was going to order a few rods from them, but shipping was around $60 for each rod.

The rod shipping price is included in Asian Portal price, which is part of the reason their prices are high, but their prices are as much as $100 over Digitaka.

As always with JDM, the trick is finding stock, so you weigh that against price.

I bought one rod off ebay for $130 with free shipping that AP had listed at $250.

Plat is a good place if you can find stock, and many of their rods either have free shipping or reduced shipping ($20).

I've bought $200 and $300 rods from Plat with free shipping - good prices, but you have to check their In Stock Now listing.  They are good about ordering from the rod mfg.

JdM Tackle Haven is also about $60, but they will ship 2 rods in one tube if you buy a couple.  Japan lure shop is probably the cheapest place to buy jdm rods, but they sell out fast and never replenish.
