With the sales coming up...or in TW's case already started...I'm trying to decide between two rods

 

Fury 765Flip - 7'6" MH/F

Lews KVD GC9 - 7'6" XH/XF

 

With discounts, they're gonna be about the same price - anyone recommend one over the other?

Fury, way better

Personally, I'd use the sale as an excuse to upgrade up a little to a Kaden. With the discount it only adds like $20 to the fury's msrp.

Couple issues

1: I'm a lover of split-grips - Kaden only has solid grips

2: Budget - with the boat work I'm trying to keep my gear expenses to a minimum - $50+ difference between the Kaden and Fury price after discount is a big deal for that.

I get it. I guess I'd still have to say stick with Dobyn's, and grab the Fury. I have a couple of them, and they are a great budget rod, they just never had that "wow" factor for me. On the other hand, I've hated every Lew's rod I've ever had in my hands.

Well..that'll make it the 6th Fury in my arsenal.

 

I was planning on the Fury...but wanted an opinion on the KVD.

I have a KVD Quantum CB rod....and hate it.  Frickin' boat anchor and the handle is way too small.

I'm actually waiting to see if ALF is gonna have their yearly Dobyn's sale...though I have it in my cart on TW just in case.

Sportsman outfitters has a bunch of dobyns on sale right now.

Furys aren't included, the Sierras are only 15% off while TW has them at 20% off. If ALF has it's usual sale...they'll be 25% off...that's why I'm waiting a bit.

As a rabid Abu Garcia fan, I agree lol

I have little experience with Lews to be honest so I can't really provide any decent input, other than with the Fury you know what to expect.

I think I saw ALF has there Dobyns rods at 20 to 25% off depending on which series you were looking at.
