  • Not exactly tackle but I scored a great deal on the Simms Challenger Insulated Fishing Jacket & Bibs. I'm ready for early open water and no more freezing my arse off to fish. A-Jay

This time of year I throw out there a bit of a Christmas list from stuff at TW. They all know about the Black Friday sale. I never expect it all to be bought but do like what I receive. Put out there a few models of the Abu Ike Delay Casting Rods, some SPRO, Lucky Craft and 6th Sense Crankbaits. Looking forward to using it.

I generally would not buy a rod unseen or untouched. I’ve been pretty happy with Veritas Winch Rods I’ve been using. Thought by chance the Ike Delay rod might fall in line with those.

Do you do anything special in terms of rigging it?  My last trip out I rigged it upside down and it seemed like that might be the ticket for smaller pond bass who can't engulf my finesse worms.

I'm pretty sure Decoy suggests you rig it with the point facing up.  If its getting eaten off the bottom and not on the fall I actually like to have the point facing down, kind of like a SH.

@GetFishorDieTryin Excuse my ignorance....... How do you get the point to face down on the bottom? Do you place the nail weight at the hook bend/point end of the plastic? I seriously lack quick critical thinking skills ?

Yes, by “upside down” I mean putting the hook eye closer to the nail-end of the worm.

If the fish are eating the bait off of the bottom I like to have the point facing down towards the weight.  The position of the weight never changes with a neko rig no matter what hook I use.  You would rig it like it is in this picture.

Phew. Yep. That's what I plan on doing like a traditional exposed hook neko.
