rod choices

Featured Replies

any thoughts on these spinning rods. was at a dealer today, they seem light, they had a few others over the 150 dollar range, the Tatula. the Tatula Elite, the Kage and the Rebellion

my son has 2 of these Daiwa Tatula's and loves them  TTU761MLMFS, they were hard to find over the last few months, but i see they might be available now

I dont throw Dobyns myself so i could be way  off here but ive heard dobyns rod actions run a bit slower than the stC i throw. If thats true the mf tip might make that rod more of a swimbait/crankbait rod rather than a jig rod. I use my ML rods for jigs.

Sorry i cant help more.

It may depend on what you're using them for. The tatulas and elites are fine rods. I have no experience with Kage or Rebellion. If you're just looking for all-purpose spinning, tatulas are great. I have not has issues with components. Guides seem to hold up to leader knots after a couple years of fishing for me. Most models are comfortable for my preferences. I love the 6'6" Med tatula. I have others that are longer but they not as balanced and comfortable for me, but I personally enjoy fishing with the 6'6" tatula just as much as my 7'5" Med Lt - Dobyns Xtasy.
