I just got a 6’6” dobyns fury and was looking at either a daiwa bg 2500 or shimano ultegra 3000. No one around has much of anything in stock so I’ll have to order one sight unseen, so with the bg weighing a bit more, which would balance better with my rod?

the BG is a nice reel, just a tad on the heavier side like you said compared to others. what is your budget?

Those are both really nice reels. The Ultegra doesn’t seem to get a lot of fanfare on here though. I prefer light spinning reels so I’d go with the Ultegra.
 

I’ve had spinning reels that felt too heavy for a 6’6 rod I once owned which drove me to buy a lighter reel. Most people complain about setups being tip heavy but in my experience, spinning combos easily become bottom heavy with too heavy a reel. Of course, it could’ve all just been in my head. The way you hold the reel has an effect on the balance too. 

Ideally was looking about 120 and under but maybe coulda stretched to the ultegra if it got that much love. It’s hard when I can’t try them in hand first and I only have one shot since I’m broke

Seems they've been on sale recently.

I just got it a few days ago and it’s been freezing cold here so haven’t had a chance to use it but it’s super light, I love the action of it and I know it’s gonna be perfect for me (I’m a light finesse type fisherman). After I get a reel, I’d like to get a heavier 7’er. ??

The new version of some Pfluegers have come out, and BPS has the old versions on discount.

Difference between old and new - the new doesn't have the anti-reverse switch.

Get a Daiwa Legalis 

Daiwa Fuego is a great reel for the price, have them on all my spinning rods.

I put a Diawa Exceler on my Fury.  I really like the feel and balance of this combo. 

I have $100 dicks gift certificate so I’m kinda leaning toward the Sahara right now, no nasci available atm

Bought a Dobyns 69 spinning and paired it with a Revo X $100. Balance is beautiful right at the handle can’t wait to fish it. Take a look you might be interested.
