How Many Lures Do You Throw?

There is always more than one lure that works well in the cover or structure targeted . I'll start with what I think is best and change if I have to . I'll almost always fish different covers and structures throughout the day . So I may throw at weeds , standing timber , laydowns , sunken brush , rip rap  , points , coves , channel ledges... all on the same day .

To develop confidence in new lures use them when the bite is good. Last year sold hundreds of different lures and caught bass on all of them, that is why I kept them so long. I down to 3 mid diving lures, 2 jerk baits, 3 structure spoons, 2 wood Sammie’s, 6 home made tail spins, 50+ hair jigs, 6 pint jars of pork trailers, 12 bags of soft plastics.

1st time in 50 years I know every lure I have and use them all during a year.

This is what I'm aiming for. Basically utilizing the 80/20 principle with fishing. Meaning, if I catch 80% of my fish on 20% of the lures I have, why not pare down to that 20%? Or better yet, since I know those 20% work, why not get more of them?

Brush hawg Texas rigged, shaky head worm(roboworm fat or strike king baby fat finesse), red eye shad, and fish head spins are my go tos.  I go to the lake rigged up and leave with rigged up but will rotate out colors and sizes as needed on them.

Going to try to work in senko and neko rigs this season to try and build some confidence in them.

The worse the bite, the deeper I dig into my tackle.

On a good day one or two baits. On a tough day I may not be able to keep track of how many bait and colors I use.
